I want you to know that I take privacy and anonymity very seriously. I will never share anything beyond this forum with any specific personal information attached. While I hope you will feel comfortable to share with me as much as possible — I genuinely believe it will help me help you — I do not under any circumstances want you to feel pressure to go beyond your own comfort zone. My technique involves asking a lot of questions in order to orient myself to your specific situation and perspective. However, “I don’t want to answer that,” and “I don’t feel comfortable with that,” are completely acceptable responses. I do believe that the more you share, the greater your chances of maximizing your positive potential and creating lasting change. With that said, your comfort is of the highest priority, and your honest expression is both welcome and essential to the process.
