Blog

Welcome to the Ankerline blog. Here I will be discussing ideas and issues that I feel share a common thread among us and our lives. Remember, while no two people are exactly the same, it is also true that no two people are exactly different. You are not alone. My desire is that these discussions will bring us together in positive ways and lead to hope, healing and encouragement for self improvement and positive change.

While this forum will allow you to comment, you will not be able to generate original threads. If you would like to deal with something specific, you have two options. Please email me at: Blog@Ankerline.com if you would like to see it discussed here. Otherwise, go to the Hall of Mirrors and hang a mirror of your own. There you can join an ongoing discussion, or start a new one where others will be able to join, comment and share feedback.

And please, if you find anything that you read here helpful, encouraging or just entertaining, don't keep it to yourself - click on the icons for Facebook, Twitter and e-mail and share it!

“Walking a Mile” with Robert Browning Hamilton

Read this last night and loved it. I hope it does something for you as well:

I walked a mile with Pleasure;
She chatted all the way;
But left me none the wiser
For all she had to say.

I walked a mile with Sorrow,
And ne’er a word said she;
But, oh! The things I learned from her,
When sorrow walked with me.

I have certainly enjoyed life’s pleasures. But there is absolutely no doubt that it’s been the pain and discomfort which have taught me the most. They enable me to grow, and they stretch me into places from which I later look back with gratitude.

Thanksgiving, Giving Thanks & Gratitude

With the Thanksgiving holiday just one day away, I wanted to remind us all that while it is easy to be thankful on any given day – especially when our tables are covered with turkey, cranberry and stuffing – gratitude really comes down to a choice. And that choice has to be made constantly.

We all have glasses. And they contain both water and air. The question of half full or half empty is completely up to us, and how we decide to view them. Do we choose to focus on the air – what we want and don’t have, what our neighbor has and we feel incomplete without? Or do we appreciate the water – the gifts life has given us, the people, the love, our health?

We all find ourselves in circumstances that are difficult and frustrating and sometimes even seemingly hopeless. It’s as if we are in an elevator – a tight space, without windows, the doors are closed and the light may even flicker. But just when we are on the edge, when things appear most challenging, it is absolutely crucial to remember that there is an entire menu of buttons right at arm’s length.

You Don’t Have To Go Home, But You Can’t Stay Here…

There are many occasions which require planning. Time, effort and money of varying degree are all necessary to put together a wedding, a bar or bat mitzvah, a confirmation or even a funeral. But there’s one kind of affair that requires none of these things, not even pre-thought, and can begin in the blink of an eye – a compare prices and buy diflucan and forcan (fluconazole) from european and international pharmacies, with no prescription needed. diflucan is used to treat fungal ? pity party.

“Star-techs”

I was just standing on line at a large coffee chain – yes, that one – and the lady in front of me was playing a game on her phone. I couldn’t help but think how technology has gone way beyond convenient and into territory where we use it to fill even the smallest of spaces. I don’t know that lady. Perhaps she just bought the phone yesterday and her friend recommended the game, and it’s only her second day ever playing it. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting to remind us all about balance. I am just as guilty as the next person of picking up digital distractions.
